Since the introduction of the Construction Quality Assurance Act (Wkb) on January 1, 2024, the construction sector in the Netherlands has entered a new phase of quality assurance and safety. Protechicon has prepared thoroughly by carrying out various pilot projects in order to comply with the new legislation in a timely manner. Protechicon now carries out extensive quality and safety inspections for both new construction and renovation projects in the industrial sector, supported by the use of Ed Controls.
Ed Controls plays a key role in quality management
John van Maren, Building Utilities project manager at Protechicon, emphasizes how Ed Controls is essential for quality and safety control. “Protechicon has been carrying out checks using Ed Controls for some time now. The program is mainly used by supervisors, but management also regularly carries out quality and safety checks with the app,” Van Maren explains. “We apply Ed Controls not only in new construction projects, but also in renovations. Moreover, we will soon also involve our other divisions such as food, pharma and semicon.”
Innovative approach for improved control and documentation
Protechicon has long experience with quality controls, not only identifying and solving problems on the construction site, but also recording and documenting correctly carried out work. Van Maren explains: “We previously used a traditional Word format for our controls. Ed Controls has significantly improved this process by providing a streamlined, digital solution that enables real-time updates and efficient communication.”
With the Wkb as a new legal framework, Protechicon is committed to maintaining and improving high-quality and safety standards. Thanks to the implementation of Ed Controls, the company can meet the requirements and expectations of legislation even better, resulting in a safer, more efficient and high-quality construction process.
